Sri Satya Sai Baba Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba was an Indian saint who lived in Puttaparthi, Andra Pradesh, India. He had several million devotees scattered all over the world. Sri Satya Sai Baba was probably the most well known religious figure after the Pope. Hundreds of thousands of people, belonging to all faiths visited Puttaparthi to see Sri Satya Sai Baba every year. Everyday thousands of people used to get a glimpse of him in his Darshan when he walked among people. Number of people visited him went up to many tens of thousands of people a day during festival times and other special occasions. Hindus considered him as an Avatar (incarnation of God on earth). In other words as the God or the heavenly man who ensouls the planet earth is so advanced that he is unable to take physical incarnation on earth. Therefore he invites beings with whom he has developed karmic links during his own evolution to take physical incarnation on earth and stand in for him. In this way he could accelerate the spiritual advancement of all beings on earth and aid the divine plan for earth Sri Satya Sai Baba was known as the Cosmic Christ. He was so spiritually advanced that he embodied the Christ Principle, an aspect of God (the energy of love) at cosmic level. Sri Satya Sai Baba was in the second of his three incarnations. He was known as Shirdi Sai Baba in his previous life. In his next life he will be born again as Prema Sai Baba. Sri Satya Sai Baba was well known for his miraculous healings and materialisations. He was also known to have raised the dead. There are probably several hundred books and magazines published about him all over the world.
